霊巌洞にて

宮本武蔵が晩年を過ごし、五輪の書を執筆した洞窟である霊巌洞。2025年4月14日早朝収録。この日は、熊本地震からちょうど9年目にあたる日である。宮本武蔵が仕えた熊本藩の居城・熊本城も甚大な被害を受け、地域全体に深い爪痕を残した。
今もなお復旧作業は続いているが、被災の記憶とともに、人々の暮らしと文化は力強く再生を遂げた。

運命的とも言えるこの収録は、熊本の悲しい歴史に対するひとつの鎮魂ともなった。
当日は、前日まで雨の予報だったにもかかわらず、奇跡的に晴れ渡り、ピンクムーンの翌日という特別な夜、森は美しい月の光に照らされていた。
およそ400年前、宮本武蔵もまたこの洞窟から同じ月を眺めていたのだろうか――。

Reigandō, the cave where Miyamoto Musashi spent his final years and wrote The Book of Five Rings.The recording was done early in the morning on April 14, 2025.This day marks exactly nine years since the Kumamoto Earthquake.
Kumamoto Castle, the former stronghold of the Kumamoto Domain where Miyamoto Musashi once served, also suffered extensive damage, leaving deep scars across the region.
Even now, restoration efforts continue, but together with the memory of the disaster, the lives and culture of the people have made a powerful recovery.

This recording—deeply fateful in its timing—became, in a way, a requiem for the sorrowful history of Kumamoto.
Although rain had been forecast until the day before, the skies miraculously cleared.
On this special night, the day after the Pink Moon, the forest was bathed in the light of a beautiful moon.
Nearly 400 years ago, did Musashi himself gaze upon this same moon from within this cave?
